ADHD Assessment
Having Trouble Concentrating?
Do you feel as though you’re constantly struggling to focus? Do you find it hard to stay concentrated, to finish what you start, to organise yourself or to manage a thousand thoughts at once? ADHD can manifest in different ways and affect both children and adults. At the Clinique Santé Lambert-Lévesque, we offer a comprehensive, personalised assessment to better understand how you function and identify solutions tailored to your situation. Our team supports you with a listening ear, kindness and expertise to help you regain a better balance in your daily life and make the most of your strengths.
An assessment helps to confirm or rule out a diagnosis of ADHD and to better understand the impact of the symptoms on your daily life. Where appropriate, our team can make a diagnosis, suggest a personalised treatment plan and prescribe medication to help you regain a better sense of balance and reach your full potential.
What is ADHD?
Attention deficit disorder with or without hyperactivity (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects a person’s ability to sustain attention, organise themselves and manage their impulses. Contrary to popular belief, ADHD does not only affect children: it can also persist into adolescence and adulthood, with significant repercussions on personal, academic and professional life.
ADHD can manifest itself through:
- Difficulty concentrating or maintaining focus on a task
- A tendency to forget things, lose items or be disorganised
- Physical or mental restlessness; the feeling of having ‘a thousand thoughts at once’
- Impulsiveness in speech, decisions or behaviour
- Difficulty managing one’s time, priorities or completing projects
Following your assessment, you will receive information confirming or ruling out a diagnosis of ADHD, along with personalised recommendations for the next steps, whether this involves a treatment plan, educational or workplace adjustments, or a referral to a specialist.
If any health issues arise during your assessment, you will be referred to a specialist for follow-up care, if necessary. Full details of your assessment will be made available to you via our secure portal, Pomelo, so that you can refer to them at any time and take the necessary action.
Our ADHD assessments are carried out by mental health professionals. The assessment includes a structured clinical interview, validated questionnaires and, depending on your circumstances, additional assessment tools.
Consultations are available online or in person, which enables us to support patients throughout Quebec.
